Before cloud applications were introduced, Gmail is the place where people save important files and documents to access from different places. It was the first well known cloud storage application in the Internet. Though we have plenty of cloud services, still people use Gmail to keep some important files. Only problem in Gmail is, you don’t have any default option to organize your attachments. Previously I wrote about a chrome extension to automatically upload your Gmail attachments to different cloud services. Today I came with a similar application called “MetisMeâ€, which helps you to upload your attachments to different cloud services right from your browser.
MetisMe is a web application, which helps you to connect cloud accounts to Gmail, from your browser and different mobile devices. Once you install the extension in your browser, it will create a link called “Attachments†on the sidebar of your Gmail account. Using that you can see all the attachments you’ve sent and received in your account for the past one year. Instead of searching in emails, this feature will help you to quickly locate the files you need.
Another important feature is uploading the attachments to your cloud accounts. Instead of manually doing the download and upload process on your files, you can do this from your Gmail using MetisMe. Right  now it  supports three main cloud services Evernote, Dropbox and Google drive. To upload your attachments first you need to sign in to the cloud service you need. After logging in, go to the “Attachments†link in your Gmail account and mark all the attachments you need.
On the top, near to download attachments, you can see an icon with different cloud services option. Click that and you will get a list of cloud services to upload your attachments. This process will be a backup for your files by the same time you can organize your attachments in a single place. Â In Gmail, all your attachments will be scattered in different emails but MetisMe will help you to keep those files in a single place for easy access.
Other than uploading in cloud services, you can forward or download your attachments using this application. MetisMe is now available for Chrome and Firefox. Also you can access this application from your Android and iOS devices. So wherever you are, you can upload and organize your Gmail attachments easily using MetisMe. Try this on your browser and  mobile devices and share your experience with us in the comment box. Thanks for reading, do share this post with your friends.
