Reveal saved passwords from under asterisks in your Web browser with one click

Sure, a lot of people have one universal password but most of us don’t. For example, I have different passwords for numerous websites (like Gmail, Facebook, Twitter etc.) and there are times when I forget those. Thanks to saved passwords in Google Chrome, I don’t have to type it in every time or anytime for that matter. It becomes a problem when I want to use the same credentials on a different computer.

To solve this matter, I stumbled upon IseePass. It’s an awesome bookmark-let that, with a click on a button, reveals all password on a page. To restore the asterisks, all you need to do is click on it again.

To get the IseePass bookmark-let, visit ISeePass’ website, scroll down until you see the orange ‘ISeePass’ button and simply drag and drop this button to your browser’s bookmark bar.

There are a lot of other applications that can do the same but for that you have to install them. This one only requires drag and drop action. There’s also a handy trick to reveal saved passwords on Google Chrome.

For that, you need to

• Visit the page with saved password
• Right click on the password field and select Inspect Element from the menu that appears.
• In the window that appears, double click on the part of the text that says type=”password” and change the quoted value to “text” and hit Enter.
• As soon as you hit the Enter button the field text will change from dots to the actual password text.

Both of these techniques work fine, it depends on which way you want to go. In my honest opinion, I would prefer sticking with IseePass because of less hassle. What about you?
