Save Files and Images to Google Drive with Save to Google Drive

As the title of the article sums it up, CamWow allows users to try out and apply free photo booth effects right from the comforts of their iOS devices. One of the greatest things about the application is the fact that the applied effects are “LIVE” which means as you click on the effects, you can see how your final result will look like. A great thing as you can experiment and choose the one you like the most.

The whole app was developed in an attempt to bring the effects and filters of “Photo Booth” to your iOS devices. Photo Booth is an application for Mac that uses the iSIght camera to bring the whole phot o-booth concept to your computers. These are, however, more like digital photo-booths.

Using the application is pretty fun and simple. All you need to do is install the application from the iTunes App Store and fire it up. Depending on your iOS device, you can use both the front-facing and the back-facing camera.

You will see four slots, and many pages. These four slots represent four different effects. Click on any one of them to see it work its magic. Once you capture the image, it will be saved in the app’s gallery. You can both save and share the image from the location.

While this application beats out many other hundreds of other applications available in t he iTunes App Store that perform the same task â€" they lack the quantity of filters and effects. However, the free version of CamWow plasters a wastermark in the final image.

PictoText: Easily Extract Text From Images [iOS]

If you are a business man or even have a little business you may come across situations where you are required to scan certain documents and have the text extracted from the given documents. The method of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) comes into the spotlight in such cases. The given app in this situation: PicToText makes uses of an OCR engine to extract text from images captured with the iOS device’s camera.

However, this is not necessary as you can easily choose any image from your Photo library and extract text from that following image.

Using the application is pretty simple and easy. However, it must be noted for the readers that the application is currently only available on IOS devices and supports iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with iOS 4.0 and later.

Navigate to the iTunes App Sto re link given at the bottom of this post. Install the application on your iOS device and get ready to have some fun. Once the application is installed, fire up the application.

If you wish to take a new photo, choose the camera app. If you already have the image and want to extract text from it, use the Photo Library app.

Once the image is captured, click on the “Use” button and the app will automatically use the OCR engine to extract text from the image. While the application is not dead accurate. It does its work if the image captured is the way it is meant to be â€" in good light conditions, focused and text being clearly visible.
