The users can search for the files in the finder window. Spotlight search is an easiest and quickest way to search for the files from MAC.

Spotlight search can be set and enabled in the system preferences. The users can restrict or allow, in what the searching has to be done. How To Create Playlists On iTunes

There are times when we want to know if the person has read the email we sent them. As most of us know that Whatsapp, popular messaging app’ has the ability to notify us when the other user is online and has read our message (with green double arrow icons ??). MailTrack for chrome does the same but for Gmail.

MailTrack is a small Google Chrome based extension that gives you the ability to find out when your emails were read. Here’s how it works. Install the extension from Google Chrome store for free and sign in to your email account.

After that you’ll need to grant the app permission before it can access your email account. That’s about it. It’s time to test. I have (of-course) more than 2 email accounts at Gmail. I sent an email after installing MailTrack to my other account.

After it was sent, I tested it by going into my sent mail tab. A new option was added beside every email I’ve sent, the ?? icon. On mouse-over, it showed ‘last mail not opened’, which of-course was right since I didn’t opened it from my other account.

But as soon I signed in my other Gmail account and opened it, the arrows turned green.

So yes, it definitely works. Remember, emails sent before installing MailTrack won’t give you any statistics. Anything sent afterward will be tracked.

How To Delete Duplicate Tracks From iTunes 11

iTunes is the medium to transfer the media tracks to iDevices. It is the default player for Macintosh operating system. This will organise the media library. When discuss about organising the library there could be possibilities of having the duplicate tracks. This will be more annoying for the users as it will consume more storage space in the computer and iDevices as well.

There is an easy method to find and delete the duplicate tracks from the iTunes library. iTunes allows the users to do this in two ways. Deleting the duplicate tracks is the first option. The second one is, exactly deleting the duplicate tracks. The users might have to understand the difference between these two options to use it more efficiently.

Lets consider the same track is available in 2 albums. This might be the way it has to be. This should not be considered as duplicate tracks. Reveal saved passwords from under asterisks in your Web browser with one click

Sure, a lot of people have one universal password but most of us don’t. For example, I have different passwords for numerous websites (like Gmail, Facebook, Twitter etc.) and there are times when I forget those. Thanks to saved passwords in Google Chrome, I don’t have to type it in every time or anytime for that matter. It becomes a problem when I want to use the same credentials on a different computer.

To solve this matter, I stumbled upon IseePass. It’s an awesome bookmark-let that, with a click on a button, reveals all password on a page. To restore the asterisks, all you need to do is click on it again.

To get the IseePass bookmark-let, visit ISeePass’ website, scroll down until you see the orange ‘ISeePass’ button and simply drag and drop this button to your browser’s bookmark bar.

There are a lot of other applications that can do the same but for that you have to install them. This one only requires drag and drop action. There’s also a handy trick to reveal saved passwords on Google Chrome.

For that, you need to

• Visit the page with saved password
• Right click on the password field and select Inspect Element from the menu that appears.
• In the window that appears, double click on the part of the text that says type=”password” and change the quoted value to “text” and hit Enter.
• As soon as you hit the Enter button the field text will change from dots to the actual password text.

Both of these techniques work fine, it depends on which way you want to go. In my honest opinion, I would prefer sticking with IseePass because of less hassle. What about you?

How To Sort Media Files On iTunes

iTunes is the default media player for MAC users. The music, video and TV shows can be played in this. It contains app store. The app store will have apps for iPhone, iPad and iPod. It happens to everyone, especially people working with computers. We sit down at our desk, willing to finish everything for the day, be more productive than yesterday. All that positive energy goes down when you start checking Facebook, see what’s going on Twitter, play a game of Poker â€"at the end of the day, you realize that you’ve actually wasted all your time and no work has been done.

I stumbled upon a Google Chrome extension called StayFocusd that helps you stay focused on your work by restricting the amount of time you can spend on time-wasting websites. With StayFocusd you can set the maximum number of minutes per day that you will be allowed to browse sites on the Blocked Sites list. For example, to check your Facebook feed, you don’t need more than 10 â€" 20 minutes, probably less. Enter the url in settings and allot the site, Facebook in our case, 20 minutes a day.

Max time allowed (in settings) is 10 minutes which can be increased or decreased.

StayFocusd has a lot of options. It gives you the ability to block or allow entire sites, specific subdomains, specific paths, specific pages, even specific in-page content (videos, games, images, forms, etc). You can also set the time at which StayFocusd will reset your allowed time for the day.

One of the best options that I like is ‘The Nuclear Option’. Lets assume, you’ve allotted Facebook 20 minutes per day. You get frustrated and increase the allotted time to use the site. That’s when The Nuclear Option comes in handy.

Activating this option will block sites for the number of hours you indicate, independent of your Active Days or Active Hours. There is no way to cancel this once you activate it.

All in all, this is one the best apps that will help you in staying focused.

Once you complete the installation, it will open a window as shown in the screenshot above. Using PDF Eraser, you can edit, delete and add text and images to a PDF file. The top menu bar in the application window will contain all the editing options. To open a PDF file from your PC, click the “Open PDF” option in the menu. All the pages available in that PDF file will be displayed in the right panel. You can choose pages from that and start editing it.

If you want to remove a particular page from that PDF file, you can use the “Page Cutter” option to do that. The page cutter will be opened as a small separate window as shown in the screenshot above. It will ask you to browse and choose the file from your PC. After choosing the PDF file, it will display all the page number with a preview. Select the one you don’t need and delete it. You can also delete multiple pages right from that window. Next, you have  all the basic options like rotate, move, etc. Another important option in the app is, there will be a small, medium and large size erasers to randomly erase the content of the PDF. You can quickly erase the area you don’t need and add your own text using the “Add Text” option in the menu bar.

Applications developed by Adobe are best in its kind. The software giant has released its new application called “Adobe Voice”, earlier this month. The app made its debut in iPad and users can download the app from iTunes for free. Unlike other professional applications from Adobe, the app is designed in a simple way to help all types of users. The interface is very simple and easy to understand. Similar to PowerPoint, you can choose a template, drag and drop images and add music to create your own voice narrated presentation. Here’s how it works.

If you have Adobe Creative Cloud account, you can sign in using that to save your presentations in the cloud. The welcome page of the app will contain some of the featured stories created using Adobe Voice. Tap the “Create a New Story” option on the top, to start with your own presentation. As a first step, it will ask you to enter a title for your presentation. If you are not sure about the title, you can skip that step and add the title later. In the next step, you need to choose a theme or a template for your presentation. There will be different themes like Explain Something, Promote an idea, Teach a lesson, etc.

If the themes in the list don’t match your requirements, you can create a custom one using “Make up my own” option at the bottom. After choosing the theme, you will be redirected to the presentation window. In that window, first you have to choose the layout you need. By default, there will be only one page, you can add more pages by tapping on the “+” button at the bottom. Hold the Microphone button below the layout page to start recording your voice. The instructions to record your voice will be given when you start your presentation.

Adobe voice offers different themes like Swing, Watercolor, Vivid, etc. The selected theme will be applied to all the pages you have created. Inside the presentation area, you can insert an icon, a photo or a text. Based on the layout you choose, you can insert multiple images and text into a single page. Also, you can add music from the app’s library. The music will be categorized as playful, happy, relaxed, etc. After completing the presentation, you can share that to your social accounts right from the application. TinyTake: A New Screen Capturing Tool For Windows

A simple screen capturing tool has become an essential one for all the PC users. Though we have a screen capturing tool in Windows by default, the features aren’t enough for most of the users. Also, we have many free applications in the Internet with premium quality. So, people who take screenshots frequently, needs a handy screen capturing tool. Previously, I wrote about Nimbus, a chrome extension to take screenshots on your browser. Today I’ve come with a new application called “TinyTake“, which helps you to take screenshots and screencast on your Windows machine. Here’s how it works.

TinyTake is a free application for Windows, which lets you quickly take screenshots and do basic annotations on the same application. You can download the app using the link at the end of this post. The app needs minimum 4GB of RAM for smooth performance. Once you complete the installation, the app will be available on your system tray. Initially, it doesn’t need any registration to take the screenshots, but to share with other applications, you need to create an account on Mangoapps’s website.  All the actions in the app can be performed through command shortcuts.

After you take a screenshot, the application will take you to the edit window. There you can do some basic stuffs like crop, adding text, rotate, highlight a specific area, etc. If you have registered for the app in MangoApps, you can share, download and upload the edited image right from the application. Another important option in the application is, you can record videos on your PC. The videos will be recorded in MP4 format and it can be recorded to the maximum of five minutes. The video can either be a screencast or recorded from your web cam.

The recorded video file can be quickly saved to desktop. If you want to share or upload the video, it can be done right from the application. Customizing options and the instructions to use the app will be available in the application settings. TinyTake is very simple and easy to understand. If you are using the default Snipping Tool to take screenshots and MS Paint to edit it, TinyTake is worth giving a try. How To Do Folder Actions Setup For Folders On MAC

Macintosh is one of the reliable operating systems and provides a lot of features to the users. The MAC users will feel comfort in organising the files and folders and it grants multiple options to work with. Apple wants its customers to stay in comfort zone all the time. They work hard in achieving this and it can be felt while using MAC. It lets the users to work with automation tools to complete the tasks in an efficient way.

Folder Actions Setup is kind of pretty good option to automate the tasks. The users can activate and apply some scripts to automate and get the works done automatically. It sets users to add an alert when someone adds a file to this folder, when it is worked on network. It grants some other useful functions to be done with images and files. Here is how to set it to the folders which you want to.

Step 1:

Highlight the folder which you want to set Folder Actions Setup

Step 2:

Right Click on it and Choose Services â€"> Folder Actions Setup

Step 3:

Choose a script to attach from the list. Multiple scripts can also be added

Step 4:

Click on “Attach”

Step 5:

Check “Enable Folder Actions”, If it was not

Step 6:

Click on + / â€" signs to add / delete a folder action
