Inkpad: An Excellent Vector Drawing App for iPad Comes with A Zero Price Tag

Even though we had few tablet devices before, iPad is the first official tablet introduced by Apple. After that, many tablet devices came into the market, but still no one matches the quality of iPad. The stunning retina display, 10 hours of battery backup and creative applications are the biggest strengths of iPad. Especially for designers and artists, iPad is a very useful device. The powerful processor in iPads can render high quality images very smoothly. That’s why we have plenty of professional designing apps available for iPad. Today I’ve come with one such app called “Inkpad”, a free vector drawing application offers professional quality designing tools for free.

Adobe Illustrator is the commonly used vector drawing app for iOS devices. It is used by most of the professionals to draw or edit pictures in iPhone and iPad. Inkpad is a good alternative to Adobe Illustrator and it has all the tools and options to express your own ideas. Once you download and install the app in your iPad, you can see a set of sample images in Gallery when you open the app. You can choose any one of them and edit the image or create an image from scratch using the “+” button on the top right corner. Also, you can take photos or choose the existing image using the “Camera” icon near the “+” button.

After you select the image, you will redirected to the workspace, as shown in the screenshot above. You can see drawing tools on the left and options like layers, text, patterns, etc., are available at the bottom. At the top you have four basic options to resize, preview, settings and share. The settings option will let you enable or disable grids, rulers, assign grid spacing and much more. Your workflow will be saved automatically and you can resume image editing at any point of time.

Layers are one of the important options in the app, which lets you edit images in different layers. You can create any number of layers you want and all of those layers will be available at the right bottom corner. You can easily rename, rearrange, edit and delete those layers using the options over there.

The interface is very simple and easy to understand. It is an excellent app for people who are learning vector drawing. For designers and artists, it is a must have application in their iPad.
