PeaZip: A Powerful Archiving Tool for Windows

PeaZipCompressed archives offer amazing convenience in a number of different situations. One example is trying to attach a 25.5 MB sized data with an email that cannot be larger than 25 MB; a very convenient solution is to simply compress the files to bring the total size under 25 MB. Another instance in which compression is useful is when you want to group files together; instead of individually transferring files, you can simply squeeze them into a single archive and transfer the archive once.

There are different types and formats of compressed file archives; makes it difficult to decide which program you should install to handle these archives. PeaZip, however, is one application that you simply cannot go wrong with.

PeaZip is a freeware application for Windows computers. The app comes in a setup file sized at nearly 9MB. During the installation you can choose which archive formats should be handled by PeaZip by default and whether or not there should be entries added to Windows context menu. Once the app is installed you can run it to use its visually appealing interface. The file explorer appears in the left pane, folder contents are shown in the center, and control buttons are shown at the top.
