Though creativity is something which lies within, it should have a right approach and environment to bring the best out of a person. Today I came with one such application called Murally, which helps you to visually organize all your thoughts in a single place. For instance, if you are working on a project, you will collect a lot of data like images, videos, links, etc. You might have seen some people take a printout of the data they’ve collected and stick them in a wall or a board. This helps them to visually get an idea about the project.
Murally is going to do the same for you. Whatever data you collect from the Internet can be kept and organized in a single place. To start with Murally, you need to create an account with your email id. Once you complete the registration, you will be redirected to the dashboard as shown in the screenshot below.
All the files you create are called Murals and you can create separate rooms for different Murals. Murally is available for Chrome and iOS devices. The first option is the “Mobile Inbox†which lets you add images from your iPhone and iPad. Second option is adding the url. If you want to add any links to your Murals, you can use this option. In the third option you can directly search images from Google, add image urls and upload images from your computer. In the next options, you can connect Google Drive and Evernote accounts to add content from them.
Next is the tools section. It has a very basic functionality like adding text, sticky notes and speech bubbles to your murals. An important option in the tools section is, adding the layouts. Based on your business model or project you can add different layouts to the Murals. It has different types of layouts like grids, calendars and sketch pad for different projects. So the layouts will give you an idea to create a sketch of your project. The last option “Show†lets you create more frames to the murals, it is like different layers on a image.
The top menu bar is where the app settings and other options related to Murals will be available. To see all the Murals and Rooms you’ve created, click that “m†icon in the menu bar. In the next option you will get a link to share and embed the murals. By default there will be only one room, if you want to create more rooms you’ve to get a premium account. Also a premium account is necessary to download your Murals as images. Using “People†option you can Add or invite your friends and team members to the Murals.
If you are working on a group project, you will get notifications on Email for all the changes made by your team members. Also if some one mention your name or reply to your comment, you will get a email notification. It is a great application for people who do creative jobs.
