Know everything about your computing habits with WhatPulse

Ever wanted to keep track of how much time you spend on the internet or keep track of and measure the keyboard and mouse strokes and clicks, your computer up-time, network and bandwidth usage etc? check out WhatPulse.

WhatPulse is a free to use application that is available on Windows, Linux and MacOS X. It gives you the ability to monitor almost everything and send these statistics to a web portal, analyzing your computer usage which can also be compared with other WhatPulse users.

Here’s how it works. After installing the application, you need to register for a free account. You can either use Facebook log-in or register one using your email address. It takes about 20 seconds to do so. After you’ve registered, log in and run the application. It’ll bring up an overview tab.

The Ove rview tab will show you all the basic information you need. like your Windows version, Total keycount (keyboard hits), your network, total up-time, total mouse click count, which processor and video card is installed etc. You’ll also notice a ‘Pulse’ button. Clicking on it will upload all the gathered data to an online server under your account.

Under the input tab, you can see your keyboard heat map. You can see light and warm colors to show what keys were used during a time period. Using the arrow keys will show you input history, applications usage and mouse heat map.

Next up, the network tab shows which application is using/used the network bandwidth, along-with network interfaces, real-time bandwidth usage and bandwidth per country.

WhatPulse

Uptime tab shows you your computer’s current uptime, total uptime, longest uptime and average uptime along-with how many times you rebooted it. There’s a reboot calendar and applications activity shown as well.

All in all, it’s an amazing application that will help you monitor your computer usage easily.
